Wow i have arrived ( just like Christmas ) to the end of Learning 2.0

I must say i did really enjoy all the new discoveries i have made through this exercise

#22 Week 9 E-Books

A library of E-books is capable of holding millions of books in the space of just one shelf so this must be a winner for Libraries

# 21 Week 9 Podcasts

Podcasts : Being non musical videos or audio broadcasts that are distributed over the internet.

The delivery methods are done automaticaly through RSS ( really simple syndication)

I looked at Podcastalley and Podcast also Realtime Nexus Digital Library being the worlds leading source of free ecpert technology e-books and guides there you can listen to industry experts with technology tips.

I have subscribed to www.newstalkzb.co.nz/podcasts/newstalk this will keep me up with whats happening.

"Project Gutenburg" This is a site where you can access free - books with atleast 25,000 titles to choose from. not for me but isnt it wonderful that most of the ancient books will be available electronically all nicely preserved Wow now that is something !!!

Wow now Nannie really did enjoy discovering what was on the "Awards Short Lists " now there was some very interesting stuff you can get lost in there if ther if onlytherewas more time ...... hours these following subjects ?? i clicked into i found soooo useful lots of tips to be had adding to my wisdom and perking up my wit !!!

I chose to look in depth at "Recipe Key Crazy Menu " because at the time i was looking there i was needing to find a particular recipe so there you go.

The next one was "Imedix" a very informative medical site with "members" you can click on a member and read all about them giving advice or recieving support.

Week 8 # 18

Zoho Writer

zoho writer was really quiet exciting i found it was pretty good that you can create a document on line and also off line so you can share a document with someone and add people who want to only read it and for others who want to edit Soho writer is easy to use and documents can be saved online.

Week 7 # 17 Social networking

I created an account in Facebook and had a look around finding how friends can keep in contact all around the world share photos see what people are talking about and even finding jobs and keeping up with the news.

I looked at Auckland City Library bebo.com and created my account and added some friends

i have many friends now.

Then i looked throughMy space.com I was able to look at it without a login.

Then i created a facebook.com account it doesnt let you look around without creating an account and you have to request to be a friend it seems like a great net working site.

I looked at Hennepin-County-Library and thought that was very good they have a lot of fans and you chat with the librarian and put a wall post if you wanted to.

Technorati

I looked around Technorati i found that you can look at all different subjects and latest news.I looked at the popular blogs top one being Cashmonkies.
I looked at Library 2.0 in English and there were 5,331 results and then there were only 124 in German. So you can change the results by some authority or language.

Still Wiking

The Princeton Public Librarys example of their " Booklovers Summer reading Book" Club" would work well at our Public Libraries.
It would be a great challenge for members to learn about Wikis too while
they log in to read reviews and add their opinions this would be great for contact and feed to our members.
I looked at themanukaulearn.pbwiki.com and listed my blog to Favourite-Blogs .

Wiki Wiki (something fast )

Wiki Wiki

This was a quick and easy to edit website where info can be edited changed or rewritten by users

or members of the site so posting knowledge on subjects and exchanging of ideas can be frequently updated.
Book Lovers Wiki

booklovers.pbwiki.

Princeton Public Library created a "Book Lovers Summer Reading Club Wik "to create a "snapshop in time" of what their club members were reading during the summer programme.

This project was a huge success.

Online Communities.

Ohio University Librarians created a "Biz Wiki" to experiment with an alternative form of delivery of library information.Designed to assist business researchers to find the best resources for their projects. It contains reference books, data bases, websites and other resource guides.

Flicr adventures

I enjoyed looking around Flicr and creating an account was easy compared to remembering all the bleep bleep passwords !!

Uploading pics onto it was the easiest bit as was being able to add a description and tags.

I found a little boy at the local park trying to get away from a dingo and I thought hey that would make a good photo and voila here it is...

Playing with Image Generators

Well gaining more wisdom by the minute but dont know about wit !!!!! here i am again after two weeks away in Melbourne minding my delightful two and a half year grandson Jacky a picture to be uploaded very soon heh heh.
Playing with Image generators has been another anxious
experience but here is the image using the Waholizer what can i say...
Another image I used was the stickynote I am thinking this will be very useful alternative to writing long emails as a succinct personalised stickynote will definitely get the message across to the malcontents I work with.

The challenge of RSS

Well !! very challenging for Nannie hmmm

I found the exercise so interesting as i found my way through the feeds especially
now nowing i can save all that time with my searching and the easy availability of latest up
dates of Current News and other things all the other wonderful thing i am interested in Wow !!

I thought it was great tool for Libraries for keeping the community up to date on whats happening too.

Wendywoos wit and wisdom

Hello

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Wendywoo. This blog gave me all sorts of grey hairs in creating it and now I am considering an almagamation with the Alternative Lifestyle blog that will appear on the radar this afternoon when an alternative genius creates it.

I am also nanny wendy and have two and a half luvly grandkids despite being only 27 years old. (do the maths darlings)

The challenge for me will be to think of things to put here each week and to find the time in my busy busy lifestyle to update and entertain you all.

Well byefor now
Eat your veges
Ciao Wendywoo
